Someone shoot my face right in the face.

A lot of people came to see me at the Improv this weekend which was great. I wish I hadn't been still sick because I probably would have been funnier without the fifty pounds of snot pushing onto to back of my eyes from the inside. The shows seemed to go very well from the look on the faces of the audience. But I couldn't hear the laughter very well because of the sicky-sick juice that was clogging my ears. For all I know, they were opening their mouths just screaming for me to stop, but it looked like laughing so I kept telling jokes.

For all of you who are interested in what audiobooks I'm listening to these days (jesus, who could possibly give a shit?) I just finished Theodore Roosevelt's biography "the Rise and Fall of Teddy Roosevelt" which was pretty incredible. What a life he had. Then I moved on to Theodore Rex, which is next in the series, covering his terms as president, but I stopped listening because I realized that I made a mistake by getting an abridged version. See, the whole reason I got interested in Teddy is because of this one story I heard once, that he would secretly invite whoever was the heavyweight champion of the world, to the oval office and he would make them box him right there with his sleeves rolled up. I heard that he actually was blinded in one eye during one of these bouts. That's what inspired me to read the books. So there I am, listening to the accounts of his work as president, waiting for that part to come up. The only mention of it is during the description of his second inauguration, the audiobook says "No one guessed that he was having trouble seeing because he's been blinded in one eye during a boxing match." How could they leave out the details? So I stopped listening and I'm going to go buy the actual unabridged book and just read it. Yeah right. I'm too lazy to read anything.

Anyway, I'm still feeling like shit and tonight I have to drive up to Santa Barbara to do some one night gig called "Soho". I've never been there. I hope it's okay. I did a radio interview over the phone to promote the show and it was a real drag. Some radio guys are alright but some of them seem to hate comedians and I don't know why they have us on. I was told that I'd be getting a call from the radio guys at 8:45 Friday Morning. So at that time I sat around and waited for the phone to ring. At around 8:55, the phone rings. I answer it. A very bored sounding intern woman says, in a very rude voice, without a hello or anything "Are you being interviewed today by Matt?" I assumed who she was and said "Um, yes. I believe so." She barks back "What's your name?" I said "Louie C.K." she goes "Huh? What's your name?" I said my name again, carefully, and she just hung up, leaving me to listen to the radio show over the phone, which was a very typical two stupid guys talking about nothing and trying to sound kind of edgy so someone might think they are Howard Stern. After a while, the intern comes back on and says in her rude tone "What's your name?" I repeat it patiently and she clicks off again. Then one of the DJs comes on the line and goes "Hey, Louie C.K.". Now, usually when you do a "Phoner", someone comes on right before you go on the air to tell you you're going to be on the air. So I didn't even know if the guy was maybe just coming on to say hi first. I said "hi. How are you?" he goes "Great. so you're doing soho this weekend. I know you got all the credits. You're the man." I say "yup." then there's silence and I ask "So, are we on the air?" He says "Yeah, it's go time buddy!" and then nothing. So I offer "So I guess you'd like me to tell some funny stories?" and he says "Yeah, let the good times roll, dude." And so I started telling some jokes. he and his partner didn't only not laugh, they didn't even aknowledge when I'd finished with any peice of material. After about 90 seconds of this they said "Louie C.K., great. thanks" and hung up on me. Fucking radio cunts. Oh well.

That's all for now, my friends...

Thanks for reading,
